In News, SCTDD

Through an incentive supplied by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the South Central Tennessee Development District(SCTDD) Office building has recently installed ultraviolet germicidal irradiation to protect employees and the public from the spread of viruses. Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation uses short-wavelength UV-C to inactivate microorganisms. According to the FDA, germicidal lamps have been used to reduce the spread of bacteria and reduce potential illness.

UV-C germicidal lights are proven to kill viruses, such as COVID- 19, from indoor air. UV-C light is a short wavelength ultraviolet light used around the world to disinfect the air in hospitals and laboratories. Furthermore, studies show that UV-C light is 999% lethal to bacteria, fungi, viruses, mold, and other microorganisms resulting in much healthier indoor air. This is another measure that SCTDD has made to ensure the health and safety of their employees and the communities they serve.
