The Connected Community Facilities (CCF) Grant Program is designed to construct and enhance digital access by developing new buildings or rehabilitating existing facilities. The program’s objective is to facilitate the development of a digital workforce, enable virtual health monitoring, support virtual education, and provide broadband access, all within a single facility for the community. Local government entities, including counties, municipalities, schools, libraries, and organizations in partnership with local governments, were encouraged to submit applications for this competitive grant opportunity. The grant covered 90% of eligible project expenses, with a 10% matching requirement, and offered a maximum award of $2 million. Lorie Fisher, the Director of Economic and Community Development, and Kayla Baxter, the Assistant Director have overseen the administration of three Connected Community Facilities grants. Congratulations are extended to Lewis County, Maury County, and Wayne County on receiving the grants. Below, the recipients and their respective awarded amounts will be listed.
