In 2017, the State of Tennessee established the Broadband Ready Communities Program as part of the Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Act. This initiative, funded by the American Rescue Plan State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, utilizes a segment of the Tennessee Emergency Broadband Fund – American Rescue Plan to offer $10 million in assistance. The program provides a non-competitive grant opportunity for county and local governments to access up to $100,000 for broadband adoption activities. Kayla Eubanks, Executive Assistant, administered eight Broadband Ready Communities grants to encourage county engagement in facilitating broadband infrastructure and community access. The grant recipients, including Bedford County, Giles County, Lawrence County, Marshall County, Maury County, Lewis County, Lincoln County, and Wayne County, were congratulated for their achievements.
